
This year’s Grammy Awards saw a name on the ballot that would be familiar to a lot of Kenyon natives: Alfonso Tellez Jr. was nominated in November for his song, “Rising Star”, in the category of Best Contemporary Classical Composition. Though he did not win, the national recognition that comes with a nomination is sure to be a boost to Tellez’s musical career – and an exciting experience for a young artist whose musical career didn’t begin until 2006, when he released his first album, “Complicated”.
