The Kenyon-Wanamingo FFA Chapter is off to a great start this year so far. In September the Dairy Cattle Evaluation Team earned second place at their region contest qualifying them for their state competition in April, this team consists of Hanna Gudknecht, Matthew Scheffler, Ben Scheffler, and Cora Foss. A few of the team members placed in the top 10 Ben Scheffler placed 2nd, Cora Foss placed 5th, and Hanna Gudknecht placed 8th.
The annual Fruit Sale Fundraiser was a success with the chapter selling just short of $15,000 worth of fruit to the community.
Coming up the chapter is having their pancake breakfast to thank the school staff and alumni/supporters for National FFA Week. In March the FFA Alumni are planning a pancake feed in Wanamingo open to the public.
Students will be attending the Minnesota State FFA Convention at the end of April to compete and learn more about FFA while supporting their fellow members.
The agriculture department’s greenhouse at the high school will be back open and selling a variety of tomatoes, peppers, flowers, and more starting the first week in May for the FFA Plant Sale mark your calendars!
Finally to wrap up the year the Kenyon-Wanamingo FFA Chapter is celebrating their local FFA week May 11th- 15th with activities for the students all week long, end of the year banquet, and the tractor drive on May 15th.
