Patricia Sue “Pat” Raasch, 73, of Wanamingo, MN, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026 at home surrounded by her daughters.

Pat was born July 22, 1952, in Faribault, MN, to Arvin and Elaine (Haugen) Grove. She was raised in Wanamingo and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1970.

Pat married Marvin Swiggum, and together they welcomed a daughter, Jennifer. They later divorced. On October 15, 1977, Pat married Daniel Raasch, and they welcomed their daughter, Allison. Pat and Danny lived in Zumbrota for almost 30 years until his death in 2005. Soon after she moved to Wanamingo.

Pat had a special gift for connecting with people and bringing joy to others. She spent many years as the Activities Director at the Zumbrota and Pine Island Nursing Homes, where she deeply valued the wisdom and companionship of the elderly. Later, Pat worked as a transporter at Mayo Clinic, a job she thoroughly enjoyed.

Faith was the foundation of Pat’s life. She was a Christian and loved the Lord, spending many hours in prayer and devotion, lifting others up and sharing God’s word wherever she went. Her kindness and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Pat found joy in early morning walks, reading, music, dancing, playing cards, traveling, and shopping trips with her sister, Wanda. Whether visiting with neighbors or spending time with friends and family, Pat treasured every opportunity to connect and build relationships rooted in love and faith.

Throughout life’s many challenges, Pat leaned on the Lord and used her experiences to comfort others facing similar struggles. She lived her life as a reflection of Christ’s love—offering encouragement, prayer, and friendship to anyone in need.

In a final act of generosity and service to others, Pat chose to donate her body to science and education.

Pat is very much missed by her daughters, Jennifer (Scott) McCutcheon of Lakeville, MN and Allison (Kurtis) Ronningen of West Concord, MN; grandchildren, Alex (Jamie) McCutcheon, Kayla (Isaac) Leonard, Knute and Aislynn Ronningen; great-grandchildren Nora and Adalyn McCutcheon and Levi Leonard; siblings Shirley (Roger) Friese, Betty (John) Thompson, Avonne (Donald) Bakken, Wanda (Greg) Swarthout, Larry (Joan) Grove, in-laws Jim (Brenda) Raasch and Elaine Hannenberger ; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and cherished friends.

Upon arrival in Heaven she was greeted by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and also by her parents, Arvin and Elaine Grove; her husband, Daniel; her grandson, Payton; and all the other friends and family who went on before her.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Mayo Clinic Hospice, Wanamingo Fire and Rescue, and Dr. William Ward for their compassionate care and support.

A service of remembrance was held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Zumbrota on Friday, March 13 at 4pm. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Wanamingo Fire and Rescue.

Her family finds peace knowing she now rests in the arms of the Savior she faithfully served.
